Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at the Cherai Resort was marked by its unique culinary offerings and serene location, perfect for anyone seeking a getaway from the urban landscape. Nestled between the sea and a tranquil lake, this resort boasts striking views, making leisurely walks around the property quite delightful. The restaurant experience, however, had its ups and downs. While the ambiance was inviting, my request for breakfast was overlooked, leading to a rather unfortunate situation. I found myself with a rather unsatisfactory meal: a triangle of bread with diminishing freshness, a sliver of aged cheese, and an overly ripe banana wrapped in a laundry bag. It left me in a rush, almost making me miss my departing flight. On a brighter note, I did appreciate the introduction to Karkidaka Kanji, a medicated rice preparation that speaks to the region's therapeutic traditions. It was an interesting touch that links local flavors with wellness. The resort's cooperative staff made up for my dining experience, offering prompt assistance even amidst heavy rain.
